    Buddy Poppies

Buddy PoppyAs Memorial Day approaches on Monday, May 31st we'd like to remind veterans and the public at large that VFW members will be out in the community the weekend of May 29th-30th distributing Buddy Poppies for wear on the National Holiday. Memorial Day is sacred to war veterans, a day when all Americans should reflect on lives lost by their countrymen in wartime. Personal moments to reflect on such loss are appropriate for all. Public displays of remembrance are appreciated by veterans especially, such as raising the U. S. flag to half mast until noon, or inviting a veteran to speak about their experiences at your school or place of business. Memorial Day should leave each of us with a better appreciation for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Donate any amount for your Buddy Poppy - made by disabled Veterans - and wear it with pride this coming Memorial Day.
