Comaradeship Nights

Members of VFW Post 5760 gather at 5:30 pm the first Tuesday of each month at the Keewaydin Clubhouse. At that time the Navy-Marine Corps bell is sounded and the canteen is open for service. This is our time to informally socialize, catch up, and listen to one of their own reminisce about their personal story of time spent in military service. With such a broad range of American military experiences amongst our members, it’s not uncommon to hear one of our own talking about the landings at Normandy, reconnaissance flights over Burma, the battle for Seoul, patrols in the jungles of South Vietnam, medical evacuation flights out of Saudi Arabia, urban combat in and around Baghdad, or even special intelligence operations against Al Qaeda. Those who attend, listen, ask questions and engage come away with a greater appreciation for their comrade-in-arms; no matter the age difference or generational gap. Over the past few months our Comradeship Nights have welcomed not only members to speak, but also invited guests.

“Wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men.” - George S. Patton
