Agreements: Patrons are required to initial and sign our standard Rental Agreement acknowledging that they understand and agree with VFW policies and reimbursement standards. An electronic invoice will be sent to you and all events must be paid four days in advance or earlier.

Deposit: A security deposit of $750 is required to reserve an event date. This is returned in full or in part depending on the condition of the clubhouse after a Post Rental Assessment is conducted the day after your event.

Capacity: The fire code maximum capacity is 150 persons; three fire extinguisher points are located in the clubhouse in case of emergency.

Seating: Banquet and stackable chairs available for up to 125 persons.

Tables:

• Sixteen 60” round tables
• Seven 8' rectangles
• Five 4’ rectangle check-in/ gift tables

Dishware: We do not provide dishware, flatware, baking, or cookware; obtaining such is the responsibility of the patron and/or their catering service.

Bar: A serving area with a sink, storage, countertop, and small ice freezer is available for use.

Licensing: If your event has alcohol served you’ll need to obtain a Washington State mandated Banquet Permit; the cost is $10 available at most liquor stores.

Kitchen: Kitchen amenities include: 2 full-size ovens with four burner stove tops, 2 refrigerators/freezers as well as a chest freezer, a microwave and a deep sink. We also have a commercial dishwasher and garbage disposal.

Dance floor: 1500 square foot hardwood floor with converted gas stone fireplace.

Stage: A fixed, raised stage and spot lighting are great for small bands, disc jockeys, head tables, or presentations. Available A/V system with a drop-down projection screen, iPod plug-in and an HDMI plug-in for a laptop as well as a DVD player and wireless microphones

Power: Multiple outlets throughout the hall; all standard 20-40 amps, 110v.

Lighting: New Art Deco chandeliers and sconces on dimming switches.

Restrooms: Both men’s and women’s restrooms are available.

Parking: Options include the use of 15 regular and one handicapped-designated parking spaces in front of the clubhouse; legal street parking; and up to 40 additional public access parking spaces available at nearby Lid Park. “Reserved for Special Event Parking” signs are available if you would like to place them out front of the clubhouse the morning of your event.

Refuse: A large garbage container is located on the south side of the building; keys are available in the kitchen for patron use.

Cleaning: At the end of the rental all patrons are responsible for putting away all furniture (detailed instructions provided), removing all decorations, and disposing of all trash and garbage. A dumpster is provided for trash and garbage, but there are no recycling bins available. If you choose to recycle, you must take recycled materials with you. All interior spaces, furniture and outside parking areas will be assessed the morning after each event, the condition of which determines the return - in whole or in part - of your $750 security deposit. Standards for such are outlined in the Rental Addendum form provided.

Damages: Patrons will be held liable for all damages to the clubhouse or content properties during the period of the rental as agreed.

Insurance: Although additional Event Insurance is not required for rental of the clubhouse, it is recommended that patrons do so as a precaution.

History: Keewaydin Clubhouse is a National Historic Landmark, listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places, and on the local Mercer Island Historical Society roll of historic properties.
